There, you can easily spend hours antiquing, vintage shopping, popping in and out of cozy local eateries, and strolling along the Snohomish River. With more than 175 antique dealers, Snohomish is arguably the Antique Capital of the Northwest. Many of the buildings are more than 150 years old, lending the city historic charm. You'll have no trouble entertaining yourself as you browse the vintage shops, antique stalls, restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, and gift shops. It's a very popular destination during the holidays and makes for a great day trip from the Seattle area at any time of year.
Snohomish is a great day trip from the Seattle area. If you're flying into SEA (Seattle-Tacoma International Airport), we recommend staying at one of many fantastic hotels nearby in Seattle Southside. There are dozens to choose from, whether you're looking for a luxurious retreat or something large and family-friendly. From there, you can rent a car and head north to see what the rest of the region has to offer.
Once you've arrived in the Historic Downtown District of Snohomish, head to First Street, a hub of vintage and antique goods that runs along the Snohomish River. There, you'll see tons of places to shop. Start at Antique Station at Victoria Village, where you'll see goods from many different sellers. Scoop up a sweet flannel, hunt for handmade ceramics, try on a pair of cowboy boots, and generally have a ball digging through treasures. Then, head to Star Center Antique Mall, a large building featuring goods from more than 200 antique dealers. You could make an entire day out of visiting either of these locations, but you'll want to save some energy for the other shops in town.
Beyond antiquing, many of the shops on First carry a curated mix of new and used items. Stop in Joy Works for new "vintage-inspired" home decor and Annie’s on First for stylish lifestyle goods. My Eclectic Home is another great spot, as is Maple and Moss, which carries ethically sourced and locally made goods. Annamarie Collective is another great spot for local handmade items, unique art by local artists, and some antiques.
After perusing even a few stores, you'll see there's something for everyone in Snohomish, whether you're hunting for furniture and decor, clothing, children's toys, sports gear, tools, or that perfect gift for the collector in your life.
Pro Tip: Downtown Snohomish has a great parking map you can look at ahead of time to plan your visit. There is parking on First Street on the west side that tends to have spots, and parking near The Carnegie on the east side.
There are dozens of cute places to get a bite to eat before or after your shopping trip. For brunch or lunch, check out Cabbage Patch Restaurant. The interior is filled with Victorian decor, so you can keep the vintage vibes going. If it's sunny out, you can have your meal on the patio.
For an afternoon snack, swing by Simply Sweet Cupcakes, a cozy local shop that sells cupcakes, cookies, cake pops, and French macarons.
For a hearty dinner, head to Picadilly Circus, a delightful English-style pub where you can order a pint, watch a game on the TVs, and enjoy a quintessentially British meal of bangers and mash.
Note that most of the shops close by 5 p.m., so arrive early to avoid missing out on a new treasure.
