Burien Actors Theatre is serving up a fresh holiday twist with The Past, a Present Yet to Come—a Northwest premiere that playfully imagines how Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol might have come to be. In the story, a young Victorian entrepreneur hatches a plan to soften his uncle Ebenezer Scrooge’s hardened heart by producing a new play—pulling in tough-as-nails producer J.B. Roth and a broke, scandal-prone Dickens… with plenty of suspicious “ulterior motives” along the way.
The show runs Dec. 5, 2025–Dec. 21, 2025 (Fri/Sat 7:30pm, Sun 2:00pm) at the Little Theatre at Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien, with free on-site parking and ADA accessibility. Runtime is ~100 minutes with no intermission, and there’s a note for some adult content/language.
