Fall in the Northwest is nothing short of ideal.

The air is crisp, the fall foliage is gorgeous, and while you may catch a gray, drizzly day, just embrace it as an excuse to get in the spirit of spooky season. Grab your coziest sweater, take a walk on a forested trail, explore rainy day fun, or check out seasonal events. Read on to find plenty of ideas for your next autumnal adventure.

Get in the Spooky Spirit at Halloween Events

There are tons of family-friendly Halloween activities around the region. Some of our favorites include:

Haunted Escape Room (Multiple Dates in October): Maeve (formerly Seattle Chocolate) offers tours of its factory year-round, but every October, it hosts a new, spooky experience. In 2025, they're hosting a space-themed escape room! Journey to a haunted planet, solve puzzles, and brave a ghostly garden. This 50-minute experience will be offered at many time slots throughout the month. Visit the website for details and to book tickets. If you don't see them available yet, stay tuned and check back in a few weeks!

Witches Tea (Multiple Dates in October): Book a festive afternoon tea at Marina Mercantile, a charming tea shop and restaurant in Des Moines. You'll be served homemade, Halloween-themed treats and tea sandwiches on an elegant tiered tray. Costumes encouraged! Visit the website to book a time at your convenience, or attend one of several witchy special events.

Museum of Fright (October 26, 2025): Every year, the Museum of Flight, the nation's largest air and space museum, transforms into the Museum of Fright for a day. Explore the galleries to find Halloween-themed games and activities to spark imagination, innovation, and get in the Halloween spirit. You do not need to book tickets in advance.

You don't have to go far to find a pumpkin patch near Seattle Southside. Check out Carpinito Brothers in Kent and Mosby Farms in Auburn. Or, take a road trip a few hours out to find farmlands full of pumpkins. Bring the family along with you and explore what each farm has to offer.

For something more local and quaint, visit Zenith Holland Nursery & Gift, a historic garden store that goes all out for the seasons. There's a large area devoted just to pumpkins and Halloween, with plenty of cute photo opportunities. While you're there, shop for upscale seasonal decor and gifts.

De compras para el otoño y el invierno

Equípate para el frío en Westfield Southcenterel mayor centro comercial del estado de Washington. Con varios grandes almacenes como Nordstrom, Macy's y Sears y docenas de lugares donde comprar regalos, electrónica, juguetes, juegos y mucho más, además de una amplia selección de opciones gastronómicas, hay algo para todo el mundo en este emblemático centro comercial cubierto.

El paraíso de los deportes: Fútbol, béisbol y hockey.

Octubre es la época más maravillosa del año deportivo. Hay postemporada de béisbol, la temporada de fútbol está en pleno apogeo, tanto en el fútbol profesional como en el universitario, y la temporada de hockey acaba de empezar. Si se aloja en Seattle Southside, llegar a todos estos estadios será muy fácil. Vaya a los partidos de los Mariners y los Seahawks en el Metro Ligero Link y bájese en la estación Stadium para disfrutar del partido. ¿Estás en la ciudad para ver a los Huskies en la Universidad de Washington? La estación Link de la Universidad de Washington te deja justo enfrente del estadio. Si te gusta más el hockey sobre hielo, tienes dos lugares de fácil acceso en transporte público. Hay muchos parques y senderos que explorar donde admirar las vibrantes hojas otoñales, como:

  • Des Moines Creek Trail, un hermoso sendero arbolado que le llevará desde las orillas de Puget Sound en Des Moines Beach Park hasta el interior de SeaTac.
  • Angle Lake Park, un parque de 3 hectáreas con vistas al lago, varios refugios de picnic y un fantástico parque infantil y de pulverización.
  • Interurban Trail, 14 millas de sendero pavimentado que atraviesa las ciudades de Tukwila, Kent, Auburn, Algona y Pacific. Hay muchos lugares donde subir y bajar si sólo quieres ver una pequeña parte del sendero. Desde Tukwila, puedes dirigirte hacia el norte por el sendero hasta el centro de Seattle, o hacia el sur a lo largo del río Green.
